In this article, we will be teaching you how to: PREPARATION: To do this tutorial, you will need: A blank DVD and a cd with Windows XP SP2 or newer on it. You will also need a internet connection so that we can download files from the net. You'll also need an Administrator account to run the Setup program. If you're unsure whether your computer will play back DVD's please check with your cd-rom drive manufacturer. If it doesn't then CD-R Drive may not work for you.
1. Insert the DVD into your computer. 2. The computer should detect the DVD and start the process of Windows Installation. 3. Press 'CTRL + 5' to start setup with network or Local (built in) installation option (Make sure you press both together). If you are running on a 32-bit system, choose 'Install Now'. If your computer is 64-bit choose 'Custom Install'. This will allow you to change settings later on if necessary. 4. You can use the 'Install Now' or 'Custom Install' options to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you are installing on a computer that is 32-bit then choose 'Service Pack 2 For 32-bit Systems'. If your computer is 64-bit then choose 'Service Pack 2 for 64-bit Systems'. 5. Choose 'Next' to proceed with the installation. 6. You can use the 'Advanced options' to have the computer install in languages in which you are not fluent. 7. After the installation has finished, you will need to restart your computer before it will run smoothly (if you forgot to do this, check your Control Panel). 8. Once the computer has restarted, you will need to log on with your Administrator account. If you are not familiar with this step, this is the account that is associated with the computer most of the time so it is best for you. 9. After you have logged on successfully, Windows will be ready for use. 10. Congratulations! Now you're running Windows XP SP2 or newer. 11. You can now proceed to update your software and run virus scans etc..
